Informing Policy

The IOP is proactive in representing the views of its members on a broad range of areas within physics covering the science base, innovation, energy and the environment, schools education, higher education, diversity and business. Through our extensive networks within physics we are able to respond quickly and effectively to consultations, produce reports and address emerging issues.

The IOP maintains close relationships with government departments and funding agencies responsible for science, innovation and education and regularly represents its views to ministers and senior officials.

For more information about the Institute's activities in these areas, please follow the links to the policy sections of the website, and the websites of Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
