Introduction

Measurement Analysis and Applications: 40th Anniversary Meeting

2009 will mark the 40th anniversary of Dielectrics Group, and formerly Dielectrics Society, conferences in the UK.  To mark this occasion, the Dielectrics Group will be holding its Anniversary Meeting at the University of Reading to celebrate the ever expanding areas of influence of dielectrics research.  The conference will seek to combine retrospective and forward looking elements, as appropriate for such a significant anniversary, and will therefore include all areas of study pertinent to dielectrics.  In particular, the meeting will be arranged around four themes:

• Theme 1:  Molecular and bulk relaxation processes
• Theme 2:  Space charge and charge transport in insulators
• Theme 3:  Functional materials
• Theme 4:  Bio-dielectrics and complex systems.

Oral and Poster contributions are welcomed in all these areas.

Exhibition and Tutorial

An exhibition and free tutorial session (for PhD students and others) on related products and techniques are planned alongside the conference, to provide an opportunity to learn about the latest technology available from leading manufacturers.

Publications

All authors of papers published at the conference, will be invited to submit an extended abstract for inclusion in the conference proceedings.

Full papers may be published in a special cluster in J.Phys.D.: Applied Physics.
